Young investors awarded and encouraged

VGP – Applauding 76 prize-winning projects at the 5th National Competition for Young Investors, Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân stressed that these creations are important factors for the future phase of national industrialization and modernization.

The competition has ignited creativity of young people and discovered many young talents with feasible researches and technical solutions.

Many projects are patented and protected by the State. Some even won prizes of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The organizing board received 286 projects, up 11% compared to the last competition. Hồ Chí Minh City, Đà Nẵng, Quảng Nam, Long An, Nghệ An, and Hà Nội are the localities with the largest number of candidates.

"Robot Pickers 1 and 2" by Phan Văn Mầm (born in 1992, Nam Định Province) won the special prize and is nominated for a WIPO gold medal.

On the occasion, the Central Committee of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education and Training, and the Việt Nam Union of Science and Technology Associations, launched the 6th National Competition for Young Investors in the school year 2009-2010. The prize-winning creations will be displayed at the 7th International Exhibition for Young Investors scheduled in Hà Nội next year.
