VNGOP - Zamil Steel Việt Nam has signed contracts with Yamaha Việt Nam and Honda Việt Nam to design and construct new manufacturing facilities for the two motorcycle makers, company sources said on November 11.

November 14, 2007 7:14 AM GMT+7

The company will provide a 2,500-ton steel structure for Yamaha’s factory in Hà Nội’s Nội Bài Industrial Zone, and erect a 3,000 ton facility covering an area of 40,000 sq.m for Honda in the northern province of Vĩnh Phúc.

The company did not disclose the value of the contracts.

oth projects are scheduled to be operational by the third quarter of next year to begin mass production with an initial capacity of 250 units for Yamaha and 500 units for Honda per year.

“The project mark an important milestone for us on the domestic market,” said Vũ Lê Giang, Zamil’s north Việt Nam manager. “They prove that we can offer effective building solutions that satisfy stringent customers.”

Zamil in August supplied telephone producer Uniden Việt Nam with a US $3.7 million steel frame for the construction of a 60,000 sq.m factory in the northern province of Hải Dương.
