The meeting is organized in the context of the outbreak of nCoV epidemic in China and other countries, including Viet Nam.

Delegates at the meeting will discuss socio-economic situations in January and the Lunar New Year Festival and listen to the report of the Ministry of Health on the prevention of nCoV epidemic as well as the report of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) on measures on the implementation of socio-economic tasks amid the spread of nCoV.

According to the report of the MPI, the registered capital of new enterprises increased by 76.8% in January, the highest figure recorded over the recent four years while the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) realized capital hits new record.

The number of foreign arrivals to Viet Nam reached all-time high, attaining nearly two million in the first month of 2020.

Viet Nam’s Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in January posted 50.6 points, manifesting the improvement of business conditions in production and increasing order quantity, however, it is the lowest point over the recent six years.
