VN Environment Award granted

VGP - As many as 35 organizations and 15 individuals were granted the Việt Nam Environment Award in a ceremony held in the northern province of Bắc Kạn on June 4.

The event was organized in response to the World Environment Day.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Phạm Khôi Nguyên stressed the importance of mobilizing the whole society to engage in environment control and protection across the country.

Over the past decade, more than 250 organizations and individuals with distinguished contributions to environment protection have been honored with this type of award.

This year, 50 out of 150 organizations and individuals were selected to receive the Award as they have made tremendous efforts to improve the public’s awareness of environment protection, to increase forestry coverage, and to develop environment-friendly products and services.

The Việt Nam Environment Award is the only official award by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) that is carried out every two years./.
