The Government chief received outgoing Swiss Ambassador to Việt Nam Jean-Hubert Lebet in Hà Nội on June 27.

Switzerland is currently Việt Nam’s biggest European trade partner with two way-trade turnover reaching over US $2.6 billion USD. Bilateral cooperation in other fields like education and training, science and technology has also been progressed remarkably.

PM Dũng attributed the recent advancement of bilateral ties to efforts made by the Swiss diplomat during his working term in Việt Nam.

The Vietnamese leader, however, pointed out that the economic, trade and investment linkages have yet lived up to the two countries’ expectation, urging both sides to work together to create more favorable conditions for the business circles to accelerate trade and investments.

He expressed his hope that Ambassador Jean-Hubert Lebet would continue to help boost the bilateral ties even when he is in a new position.

For his part, the outgoing Swiss diplomat conveyed his thanks to the Vietnamese Government for assisting him during his term in Việt Nam.
