Trade deficit falls in June

VGP - Trade deficit in June stood at only US $400 million, the lowest since September 2010, according to the General Statistics Office.

The figure was significant as it remained at over US $1 billion in four consecutive months.

Exports were estimated at US $7.8 billion, up 7.8% against May, or the biggest-ever monthly turnover.

Meanwhile, import turnover was only US $8.2 billion, compared to US $8.6 billion in May.

Việt Nam imported 3,667 automobiles in May and 2,678 vehicles in June.

In the first half of this year, the trade deficit was nearly US $6.7 billion, up by 5.7% and equal to 15.7% of export turnover.
