Polish businesses seek opportunities in VN

VGP - Poland hopes to expand investment and cooperation with Việt Nam through various forms, especially the provision of preferential export credits.

This statement was made by Polish Deputy Economic Minister Rafael Baniak at the annual meeting between Vietnamese and Polish businesses held by the Việt Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Polish Embassy in Hà Nội on September 23.

Vietnamese businesses who purchase industrial machinery, pharmaceutical products and services from Poland will receive the export credit support through Vietnamese banks, Rafael Baniak said.

Gospodarstwa Krajowego Bank of the Polish Government has signed an agreement with Sacombank of Việt Namto provide this service, he added.

Poland has pledged a total investment capital of US $99 million into Việt Nam with US $44 million disbursed.

In 2010, two-way trade reached US $620 million, of which Vietnamese exports see an average year-on-year increase of 20%.

The forum attracted the participation of more than 30 Polish businesses operating in areas including food, machinery, mineral exploitation, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products./.
