Vietnamese businesses spend over US$1 bil. in projects abroad

VNGOP – According to the latest notice from the Department of Foreign Investment, Ministry of Planning and Investment, up to now, Việt Nam have had 217 investment projects in other countries, worth of US$ 1,178 million.

The investment projects mainly focus on industry (accounting for 39.6% of the number of projects and 64% of the total capital) and agriculture (21.2% and 22.6% respectively). Service is also a major field.
Laos is proud of being one of the most attractive markets for Vietnamese businesses, drawing 76 projects of US$ 550 million. In Algeria alone, there is a gas and oil project with the total investment capital of US$ 243 million.
