The project, financed by the World Bank with a total investment of over US $79 million, will be implemented in 12 provinces across the country. It has been piloting in four localities, namely Hà Nội, Hồ Chí Minh City, Thái Bình and Đồng Nai.

The objective of the project is to raise the competitiveness of farming households through raising productivity, quality and food safety and reducing environmental pollution in the chain of breeding products towards to clean breeding ‘from farm to table’.

Over the pilot duration, 45 zones for good breeding practice have been developed with nearly 6,000 households involved.

Earlier on December 10, 2010, Governor of the State Bank of Việt Nam Nguyễn Văn Giàu and Director of World Bank (WB) in Việt Nam Victoria Kwakwa signed a funding agreement and related legal documents for the project.
