Over US $3 pledged for rural development between 2006-2010

VGP – Foreign partners pledged to provide US $3.34 billion in official development assistance for Vietnam’s agriculture and rural development and poverty reduction during the 2006-2010 period.

The committed funding accounted for 16.21% of the total received official development assistance for Vietnam.

Of the pledged figure, US $2.65 billion was disbursed, equivalent to 79.34%.

Official development assistance has effectively contributed to reducing poverty rate in rural areas and supporting Vietnam to achieve its commitment of halving the number of poor households by 2015.
