VN, Japan hold debate on law and judicial reforms

VGP – The Vietnam-Japan seminar on law and judicial reforms took place in Tokyo on July 2 with the attendance of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc who is now on an official visit to Japan.

Speaking at the event, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Senior Vice President Hideaki Domichi stressed on Japan’s assistance for Vietnam to enhance management capacity and complete legal system.

Over the past 15 years, Japan has cooperated closely with the Vietnamese Government, especially the Ministry of Justice to help modernize the Southeast Asian country’s justice sector, he added.

At the seminar, a number of Japanese professionals exchanged views and shared experiences in law and judicial reforms in Japan.

Vietnam is striving to reform its legal system, especially the Constitution, thus it treasures Japan’s experiences in this area, said Deputy PM Phuc.

Earlier on the same day, Deputy PM Phuc met with JICA Senior Vice President Hideaki Domichi.
