PM: VN wants to push up relationship with Singapore

VGP – Viet Nam always wants to shake hands with Singapore in putting the bilateral relationship to a new height for the sake of two peoples, for a powerful and prosperous ASEAN community, and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world, said Vietnamese PM Nguyen Tan Dung.

PM Dung made the statements in his reception given to Singapore’s newly-appointed Ambassador Ng Teck Hean on September 7 evening in Ha Noi.

Asserting that the Viet Nam-Singapore relations are flourishing in various fields, the host noted that the two countries have enormous potentiality for mutual cooperation, especially in economy, trade, investment, and tourism.

He suggested the two sides closely work together in building a united ASEAN community, play a central role in cooperating with partners, and share the shame view towards regional and international issues of common concern, including the Eastern Sea disputes.

Mr. Dung also hoped that Singapore will support Viet Nam in negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement.

Expressing his gratitude to Viet Nam for supporting Singaporean investors, Mr. Ng Teck Hean pledged to spare no effort to strengthen the bilateral ties.

Regarding the Eastern Sea, the diplomat said that, Singapore persists in its viewpoint that all disputes should be settled through peaceful negotiations and in the respect to international laws.
