Director of the World Bank in Viet Nam, Ms. Victoria Kwa Kwa

Interviewed by VTV, Ms. Victoria Kwa Kwa said that the use of the statistics in 2011, when Viet Nam’s inflation rate hit the double-digit figure and its macro issues saw not many positive changes, for the current report resulted in Viet Nam’s lower rankings.
Since 2011, the Vietnamese Government has succeeded in improving macroeconomic situation, curbing inflation at one-digit figure, and making macro issues much better, according to the WB.
However, the WB official also said that Viet Nam should continue improving infrastructure, especially ports and quality of working forces, and reforming many fields, including state-owned enterprises and banks.
According to the Global Competitiveness Report 2011-2012, Viet Nam has been ranked 75th out of 144 nations and territories.
