ASEAN’s biggest concentrated software park built in HCMC

VGP – The Thủ Thiêm Software Center – the biggest concentrated software park of its kind in Việt Nam and ASEAN, requiring the total investment capital of US $1.2 billion, was groundbroken on July 19 in An Lợi Đông Ward, District 2, Hồ Chí Minh City.

The groundbreaking ceremony

Entering operation in 2012, the project is expected to generate an annual revenue of US $6.5 billion. It also creates jobs for 40,000 workers (in the stage of construction) and 70,000 software experts and IT engineers.

Moreover, the park will lay the good foundation for the development of hi-tech industries, attracting more international IT giants to Việt Nam.

The project will facilitate the economic restructuring towards hi-tech services.

The Thủ Thiêm Software Center is a joint-venture between SaigonTel, a member of the Sài Gòn Investment Group (SGI), and the Singapore-based TA Associates International Pte.Ltd. The project was licensed by the Hồ Chí Minh City People’s Committee on June 11, 2008. It covers 16 ha in the center of the Thủ Thiêm Urban Area.
