Overcoming slow disbursement of ODA projects

VGP – Slow disbursement of ODA capital is now at alarming point and shortcomings still remain in deployment of ODA projects, noted Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai.

Report prepared by the Ministry of Planning and Investment shows that the World Bank and Asian Development Bank have provided up to US$4.8 billion in ODA for Viet Nam’s transport sector.

He tasked inferior levels to name and classify shortcomings for quick realization of each ODA-funded projects.

Obstacles in site clearance and capital construction procedures must be reported to the Prime Minister for resolute settlement.

The Ministry of Transport was ordered to turn down contractors with weak financial capacity.

In the long-run, the Government will work with sponsors to work out roadmap for addressing policy-related barriers./.
