PM attends 2012 National Press Awards ceremony

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Friday attended the 2012 National Press Awards ceremony to honor outstanding journalistic works on the occasion of the 88th Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism Day.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung congratulates the winners of "A" prizes

The awards include five “A” prizes, 28 “B” prizes, 45 “C” prizes and 39 encouragement prizes for the best among 1,450 entries covering various topics.

These topics reflected a wide range of political events in 2012 objectively and comprehensively, as well as socio-economic development, defense and security issues.

Journalists also touched upon exemplary role models, poverty reduction achievements and efforts to deal with the consequences of natural disasters, as well as environmental protection, anti-corruption among others.

The Radio Voice of Viet Nam (VOV) earned two of the five “A” prizes for journalistic works while achieving two “B”,  three “C” and three consolation prizes.

In his remarks, PM Nguyen Tan Dung highlighted the contributions of the press to the country’s achievements, describing them as steadfast soldiers.

He called on the press to strongly criticize social evils such as bureaucracy, corruption and wastefulness while asking Party organizations, central ministries and sectors to pay due attention to the media and build a strong contingent of media workers./.
