Regulations on handling violations in statistics

Accordingly, individuals and organizations shall be fined if they violate regulations on statistical surveys, reports, popularization and use of statistical information, and statistical documents archiving.

Offenders shall be fined between VND 7,000,000 and 100,000,000 for preventing statistical surveys, providing for forcing other to supply wrong statistical information.

A fine between VND 10,000,000 and VND 20,000,000 shall be imposed for those who disseminate statistical figures and documents which are not allowed to make public.

For wrong publication of statistical information shall be fined between VND 20,000,000 and 30,000,000. The same level shall be applied to acts of releasing statistical information with specific names and addresses of each individual or organization without approval.

The decree is scheduled to take effect since September 5 this year./
