Shipments to Germany pick up 22.35%

VGP – Viet Nam earned US$2.352 billion from exporting goods to Germany in the first six months of this year, showing 22.35% higher than the same period last year.

The General Department of Viet Nam Customs reported that in the January-June period, two-way trade volume touched US$3.695 billion, a year-on-year surge of 29.51%.

Viet Nam’s shipments to Germany accounted for 18% of the country’s total exports to the EU. Meanwhile, Viet Nam imported US$1.342 billion worth of goods from Germany, up 44.32%.

Telephones and spare parts are the biggest hard currency earner with over US$87 million; followed by garments and textiles US$27 million; coffee US$22 million; and footwear US$19 million.

Viet Nam chiefly imports transport vehicles and spare parts (US$48 million); machines and equipment (US$37 million); chemicals (US$52 million) and automobiles (US$29 million)./.
