Japan helps develop six key industries

VGP – The Central Institute for Economic Management and the Ministry of Planning and Investment organized in Ha Noi on August 8 a workshop introducing Viet Nam's industrialization strategy in the framework of Viet Nam - Japan cooperation towards 2020, with a vision toward 2030.

The strategy aims to strengthen the production capacity of six key industries including electronics; agricultural machines, agricultural and marine product processing; ship building; environment; energy saving; car and its component production.

The priority for the development of the six strategic industries looks forward renovating technologies, increasing labor productivity and creating international competitiveness. 

The Head of the Department of Business Environment and Competitiveness, the Central Institute for Economic Management, Nguyen Thi Tue Anh, said that the strategy is co-developed by Viet Nam and Japan to concretize actions on partnership in economic, commercial and investment cooperation between the two countries.

An environment for attracting investment in Viet Nam or from Japan and other countries, from the state to individuals will be created. Both sides will work together in setting up criteria, analyzing the eligible sectors for selection and then building this strategy./.
