HN: CPI up by 3.16% in August

VGP – The consumer price index (CPI) of Ha Noi went up by 3.16% in August against the previous month, according to the Municipal Statistics Office.

The capital saw a year-on-year CPI increase of 8.7%. The figure was 5.19% higher than the same period in 2012. 

The healthcare sector witnessed the sharpest rise of 63.94% due to rising costs of medical services at public hospitals.

Prices of transportation services and housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials picked up 1.13% and 0.95% respectively.

As reported earlier, CPI in Ho Chi Minh City rose by 0.31% from the previous month and 3.17% against the same period last year./.
