MONRE to install new sea observation stations

VGP – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) will set up 14 sea-environment observing stations and improve 13 existing oceanographic-meteorological stations in the 2013-2050 period.

This is part of a project which includes three phases (the first phase 2013-2016, the second phase 2016-2020 and the last phase 2020-2050) and was designed by the Viet Nam Administration of Seas and Islands.  

The project targets to improve the country's system of integrated marine resource-environment and hydrometeorology observing stations to serve economic development and national defense.

In the short term, 10 new observing stations will be installed by 2016.

The administration's Oceanography Centre has been assigned to implement the project./.
