Wutip hits central region, kills two

VGP – Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai has asked relevant agencies and local authorities to quickly provide relief aid to support victims of typhoon Wutip, the tenth to hit Viet Nam this year.

Typhool Wutip is the tenth to hit Viet Nam in 2013

Mr. Hai requested the local authorities keep a close watch on the situation and provide emergency relief and food for the victims.

As of late September 30, Wutip wreaked havoc in the central province of Quang Binh after making landfall in the central region. It took the lives of two people, injured seven others and pulled down 336 houses.

Quang Tri and Thu Thien-Hue provinces had two injured people each and around 4,000 houses damaged.

Meanwhile, the tropical storm caused a mass power cut in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces. The Electricity of Viet Nam Corporation was working to resume power supply as soon as possible./.
