The Government chief made the affirmation on December 24 at a teleconference between the Government and localities.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Office of Government were asked to collect comments from relevant ministries and agencies on a resolution of the teleconference.

“The 2014 socio-economic development goals are extremely heavy, demanding high responsibilities and greater efforts of all ministries, agencies and localities,” said PM Dung.

According to the host leader, the Government’s draft resolution on its guidelines and management of the implementation of the 2014 socio-economic development plan and budget estimates would be introduced soon.

Mr. Dung asked his inferiors to strengthen the macro-economic stability, control inflation, apply flexible monetary policies, impose tight fiscal policies on thrift practice and anti-wastefulness; stabilize exchange rates; strictly control the gold market and promptly handle non-performing loans.

It is necessary to extricate business difficulties, pay the way for businesses to access capital flows; ensure the balance of goods supply and demand and strengthen market control.

The Government leader called upon ministries, agencies and localities to make full use of opportunities created by international commitments, and to stay active and positive in negotiations for free trade agreements, especially the Trans-Pacific Partnership and those with the EU, the Republic of Korea and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The PM also noted that ministries, agencies and localities focus on three breakthroughs in restructuring the economy, renovating the growth model and improving the efficiency and competitiveness of the economy.

The agricultural restructuring, building new-style rural areas, vocational training, and more job generation for rural laborers must be implemented properly.

The PM also tasked ministries, agencies and localities to effectively control market prices, ensure goods supply and maintain social order, security and safety in the upcoming New Year and Lunar New Year (Tet) festival./.
