HCMC: CPI up 0.4%

VGP – The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Ho Chi Minh City was estimated to accelerate by 0.4% in January, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

Among 11 items, prices of medicine and health care service dropped by 0.12%. 

Prices of food and foodstuff increased 0.16% with the cost of food up 0.33%, foodstuff increasing 0.19% and restaurant service edging up 0.04%.

The price of such items as garment, hats, footwear, other products and services saw an increase of more than 0.5%.

The cost of a group of housing, electricity, water, and building materials and another one of traffic rose 1.2% and 1.24%, respectively, compared to the previous month.
