State President visits FDI enterprises in Binh Duong

VGP – State President Truong Tan Sang on Saturday visited foreign-invested enterprises in the Southern province of Binh Duong where bad inviduals excited workers to violence, triggering social disorder and damage to investors’ assets.

According to the locality’s report, some workers in Binh Duong gathered to oppose China’s illegal installation of the drilling rig Haiyang Shiyou 981 in Viet Nam’s waters. A number of extremists took advantage of the occasion to incite workers to damage production facilities.

Binh Duong authorities said they have seized ringleaders and dispatched cadres to evaluate the damages and console investors. The locality vowed to employ all measures for the incident not to be repeated.

State President Sang affirmed that Viet Nam always considers foreign investment sector as an indispensable part of the country’s economy. The State President said he is regrettable that the incident caused losses to both investors and workers and affected not only the economy but also businesses’ trust.

He urged the province to help these investors quickly resume their operations, while exerting its utmost efforts to regain their confidence.

He took the occasion to call for demonstrating patriotism by activities to raise productivity and join hands with the Party and State in strengthening the national economy./.
