The Vietnamese law enforcement forces continue to keep close watch on movements of the Chinese side, according to the Department.

China still maintained some 110-115 ships around the drilling rig to block and constrain the Vietnamese vessels from entering the oil rig and injure, threaten Vietnamese fishermen.

The total figure of the Chinese side included 40 coast guard ships, approximately 30 cargo ships and tugboats, 45 fishing vessels and for warships as well as two Chinese aircraft, the Department said.

Despite China’s intimidation, the Vietnamese law enforcement forces continued to persistently and intensively approach the oil rig as close as possible to demand China immediately stop all illegal acts and immediately withdraw from the Viet Nam’s waters.
