Longest bridge opens to traffic

VGP - Vinh Thinh bridge, the longest of this kind in Viet Nam was opened to traffic on June 8, connecting Ha Noi and Vinh Phuc province.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, PM Nguyen Tan Dung highlighted that the new bridge played an important role in accelerating industrialization, modernization, economic development of Ha Noi, Vinh Phuc province as well as the whole northwestern region.

Vinh Thinh Bridge was jointly constructed by Vietnamese and Korean technicians and workers with good quality, artistic model, serving as a vivid symbol for the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea.

PM Dung hailed the Ministry of Transport, relevant agencies and localities, technicians, workers for finalizing the project seven months ahead of the schedule.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, PM Dung thanked the Republic of Korea (RoK) for granting ODA for Viet Nam to implement the project. 

The US$ 137 million bridge has a total length of 5,487 meters with four lanes, allowing a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

The new bridge connects National Roads No. 32 and No. 2, Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway, Ho Chi Minh Highway./.
