She added that it had been a mistake for previous governments to avoid speaking about China for fear of causing offence.

Vietnamese leaders have called on the international community to express stronger protests against China after it illegally placed its oil rig Haiyang Shiyou – 981, escorted with a large number of ships, including military ones, in Viet Nam’s waters.

The US Senate on July 10 also passed the Resolution S.RES.412 on the East Sea, requesting China to return to the status quo as it existed before May 1, 2014.

Ensuring peace, stability and freedom of aviation and navigation and preventing the use of force in the East Sea which carries 40 percent of the global trade are the common responsibilities of the civilized world. Peace-lovers around the world must act before it is two late./.
