The Government chief made the statement during his meeting with leaders of Lao Cai on July 29.

PM Dung said Lao Cai needs to focus on improving its business environment to further lure investment; realizing the national target program on building new-style rural areas; and developing processing industry.

PM Dung also tasked the province to ensure national defense and security, maintain political security, social order and safety and push for borderline of peace and cooperation.

Viet Nam resolutely struggles to defend its sacred sovereignty but still maintains cooperative activities with China in all fields, affirmed PM Dung.

Report shows that the local economy expanded at the average rate of 11% per year over the past two decades.

In the first half of 2014, the gross domestic product reached 13.7%, said Chairman of Lao Cai People’s Committee Doan Van Huong./.
