DPM Minh meets with FMs on sidelines of UN session

VGP – Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh held bilateral meetings with the FMs of Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Venezuela and Grenada on the sidelines of the 69th UN General Assembly session on September 25.

At these meetings, Deputy PM Minh confirmed that Viet Nam is looking forward to accelerating the bilateral cooperation with these nations in all areas, proposing strengthening delegation exchange visits and signing agreements in economics, trade and investment.

He highlighted efforts undertaken by Viet Nam in dealing with global issues, suggesting other nations support Viet Nam's nomination to the United Nations Economic and Social Council for the 2016-18 tenure, the United Nations Security Council in the 2020-2021 term and the UNESCO Executive Board in the 2015-2019 phase.

He recommended the Turkish Government eliminate protection and anti-dumping measures on Viet Nam’s footwear and garment, receiving more Vietnamese workers in construction projects in Turkey.

The Deputy PM proposed Bulgaria boost the completion of the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations in 2014 and the recognition of Viet Nam as a market economy.

Deputy PM Minh asked Venezuela to tackle difficulties for Viet Nam’s oil and gas projects in Venezuela, hoping that the two nations will closely cooperate in organizing theSummit of the Non Aligned Movement by 2015.

Venezuelan FM stated that the Venezuelan President will pay an official visit to Viet Nam in the near future.

The Deputy PM asserted that Viet Nam attaches importance to the traditional relations with Grenada, supposing that the two sides enhance cooperation in economics, trade, telecommunication, tourist infrastructure, fishing and the aquatic processing.

He suggested the Grenada Government create favorable conditions for Vietnamese telecommunication businesses to invest in Grenada.
