VN proposes forming roads linking India and South Asia

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung proposed forming new roads in form of multimodal transport to connect the Southern Economic Corridor and the East-West Economic Corridor with India and the South Asian region.

On the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit with partners, PM Nguyen Tan Dung attended the 6th Mekong-Japan Summit with leaders of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Japan.

The PM highly valued achievements in the implementation of the Mekong-Japan Action Plan to realize the Tokyo Strategy 2012.

He highlighted the three crucial contents of Mekong-Japan cooperation in the process of establishing the ASEAN Community.

The PM suggested the Japanese Government strengthen support for the Mekong River Commission, especially in researching effects from the building of a hydroelectric plant on the Mekong River.

He asked for further cooperation in potential areas such as agriculture, aquaculture and logistics between Japanese businesses and localities with their partners in the nations lying along the Mekong River.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung asserted the commitments of Viet Nam in the Mekong-Japan cooperation for the regional sustainable development, peace, stability and prosperity.
