PM receives Chinese, German guests

PM Nguyen Tan Dung made that statement at a reception for the Secretary of China’s Yunnan provincial Party Committee, Li Jiheng, in Ha Noi on November 6.

The PM highly appraised the cooperation between Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities with Chinese localities, including Yunnan Province.

He asked the two sides to actively realize common perceptions reached by their senior leaders on enhancing cooperation between their ministries, agencies and localities, increase delegation and people-to-people exchanges in border areas, and effectively utilize the existing cooperation mechanisms.

The PM urged both sides to continue close coordination in border and border gate management and seek measures to facilitate exchanges, cooperation and economic development in border areas.

Secretary Li Jiheng promised closer coordination with the Vietnamese side in effectively implementing agreements reached by their leaders and between Yunnan and Vietnamese localities, especially in cooperation in economics, trade, investment, construction of border trade and tourism zones, and building a border of peace, stability, cooperation and amity between the two countries.

He also suggested the two countries’ leaders promote transport connectivity between Yunnan and Vietnamese localities to pave the way for cross-border trading, investment and travel to bring benefits for their people.

The same day, PM Nguyen Tan Dung also welcomed Minister for Science and the Arts of Germany’s Hessen State Boris Rhein, who is paying a working visit to Viet Nam.

The PM hailed developments in the two nations’ strategic partnership relations, affirming that Viet Nam attaches importance to the relations with Germany.

The Government chief pledged to do his utmost to further promote the bilateral relations, especially politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, investment, education, science and technology.

He expressed his thanks to the German side for its assistance to the establishment of the Viet Nam-Germany University, which is regarded as a lighthouse in the two countries’ relations./.
