Netflix officially arrives in VN

VGP - Netflix, the world's leading Internet television network, has launched its service globally, simultaneously bringing its Internet TV network to more than 130 new countries around the world, including Viet Nam, according to Co-founder and Chief Executive Reed Hastings at CES 2016.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings confirmed that the streaming platform will expand to yet another major market – India – along with other countries including Viet Nam, Turkey, Singapore, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, Poland, Russia, Azerbaijan and many more.

While largely available in English in most new countries, Netflix today added Arabic, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese to the 17 languages it already supports. However, subscribers in Viet Nam will not get Vietnamese subtitle but watch the channel at high speeds.

It offers three subscriptions (Basic at VND 180,000; VND 220,000 and VND 260,000 per month; Standard HD resolution at VND 220,000 per month; and Premium with Ultra HD resolutionat VND 260,000) with the first month being free. Payment is processed by international cards including Visa, MasterCard và Amex.

Since Netflix launched its streaming service in 2007, the service has expanded globally, first to Canada, then to Latin America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan to include 60 countries. Now it has got over 70 million members in over 190 countries enjoying more than 125 million hours of TV shows and movies per day./.
