Export turnover touches US$ 290 billion

VGP – As of September 15, total export turnover hit US$ 289.14 billion, up 21.4% (equivalent to over US$ 50.91 billion) against the same period last year, the General Department of Viet Nam Customs reported.

Export turnover valued US$ 144.22 billion, representing a year-on-year surge of 20.1% or US$ 24.14 billion. 

The FDI sector earned US$ 101.8 billion in export turnover, making up 70.6% of total export turnover, up 21.3% against the same period last year or US$ 17.87 billion.  

Meanwhile, import turnover touched US$ 144.92 billion, up 22.7% or US$ 26.77 billion against the same period last year.

Import turnover of FDI enterprises was US$ 87.73 billion, up 26.2% or over US$ 18.21 billion. The sector occupied 60.5% of total import turnover.

In the reviewed period, Viet Nam ran a trade deficit of US$ 701 million, equivalent to 0.5% of export turnover./.
