U.S.’s 242nd Independence Day celebrated

VGP – Vietnamese Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, and other local officials joined a celebration of the 242nd Independence Day of the U.S. (July 4) in Ha Noi on June 21.

Speaking at the event, which was hosted by U.S. Ambassador to Viet Nam Daniel Kritenbrink, Minister Tien congratulated the U.S. leaders and people on this occasion.

Tien expressed her delight to see the comprehensive partnership between VietNam and the U.S. is growing efficiently, especially after the visit to the U.S. by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in May 2017 and the State visit to Vietnam by President Donald Trump in November the same year.

The senior Vietnamese official affirmed that her country is keen to work seriously and constructively with the U.S. in appropriately addressing each other’s concerns to satisfy both sides’ interests.

She spoke highly of the two countries’ signing of a non-refundable aid agreement for the dioxin remediation in Bien Hoa airport as well as their coordination to successfully organize humanitarian programmes, “Operation Pacific Angel” in Quang Nam province and “Pacific Partnership” in Khanh Hoa province in 2018.

The Minister affirmed that Viet Nam is keen to work seriously and constructively with the U.S. for the benefits of the two countries’ people and peace, stability, cooperation and development in the Indian Ocean and Asia Pacific regions.
