He said ministries and representative agencies of the two countries need to work harder to regain the growth momentum in trade and investment, and expand cooperation in potential areas such as agriculture, fishing and oil and gas.
Mr. Soares affirmed to soon complete procedures for the implementation of the newly-inked bilateral trade agreement and launch negotiations for the signing of a bilateral investment agreement.
Timor-Leste will create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses, including Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, to operate in the country, he affirmed.
PM Phuc spoke highly of cooperation between the two nations at regional and international forums such as the United Nations, and thanked Timor-Leste for its commitment to backing Viet Nam’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 term.

At the meeting with the Chilean FM, Mr. Minh asserted that VietNam considers Chile one of its most important partners in the Latin America region, expressing his delight on the strong growth in the Viet Nam-Chile comprehensive partnership over recent years.
Chile wants to boost relations with Viet Nam, as well as the ASEAN member countries in general, said Mr. Roberto Ampuero Espinoza, suggesting that the two sides reinforce and promote progress in trade cooperation, while expanding investment collaboration between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to increase the exchange of high-level delegations; bolster economic, trade, and investment ties; while supporting small- and medium-sized enterprises in accessing each other’s market; and enhancing people-to-people exchanges.
They pledged to cooperate closely at multilateral forums, especially the APEC forum, and in the process of approving and implementing the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

They agreed to accelerate the organization of the second political consultation between the two foreign ministries and the third meeting of the Viet Nam-Bangladesh Joint Committee in Ha Noi later this year or early 2019 to discuss measures to fully tap the countries’ potential and strengths.
The officials also affirmed to enhance cooperation at regional and international forums.
Mr. Minh proposed Bangladesh back Viet Nam’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 term.
The officials also emphasized the need to respect the principles on maintaining peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, as well as the settlement of disputes through peaceful measures and in line with international law.
