Vietnam Airlines gets code of practice approved as parent company

VNGOVNet - Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has signed Decision 259/2006/QĐ-TTg putting a code of practice in place for Vietnam Airlines as a parent company.

Under the decision, Vietnam Airlines is a State corporation operating in line with the Law on State Enterprises. Its international business name is “Vietnam Airlines Corporation” (Vietnam Airlines for short). It has a logo in the shape of a "Golden Lotus".

The corporation is designed to operate in the areas of air transport, maintenance of aircraft, aviation engines, components and equipment and other technical items; import and export of aircraft, aviation engines, components and equipment in the following forms: rent, lease out, lease-purchase, purchase and sell; commercial ground technical services; agency for other airlines; in-flight food production, processing, import and export; aircraft fuels import, export and provision; and finance, finance-lease, and banking services.

Vietnam Airlines management consists of a management board (no more than 7 members), a control board (5 members), a general director, vice general directors, chief accountant and an assistant panel.

The Vietnam Airlines Corporation as a parent company has nine financially dependent units, eight other dependent units, a non-productive unit, two one-member limited-liability companies, one limited liability company with more than two members, nine joint-stock companies, four joint-venture companies with foreign partners, and five partnership companies.
