Republic of Korea wishes VN to successfully host DPRK-US Summit

VGP – Ambassador Kim Do-hyun of the Republic of Korea expressed his wish that Viet Nam will successfully host the 2nd DPRK-US Summit when he was received by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday.

Kim believed that it could be Viet Nam’s practical and responsible contribution to accelerate peace and reconciliation process in the world.

As the host of the summit, Viet Nam will continue to affirm the increasing position of Viet Nam as well as its role and positive and responsible contributions to international issues, said PM Phuc when he was chairing a meeting to review the preparations for the summit recently.

He tasked ministries and sectors to do their utmost to ensure security and safety for the summit, making it a success and special attention must also be paid to the reception work in order to create maximum conditions for international reporters to cover the event. 

Earlier on February 6, Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said Viet Nam welcomes the US and the DPRK to hold second Summit in the Southeast Asia country.

Hang went on to say that Viet Nam strongly supports dialogues to maintain peace, security, and stability on the Korean peninsula and stands ready to make active contribution to and coordinate with relevant sides to ensure the success of the second summit, thus helping to achieve the above-mentioned goal./.
