DPRK leader to make official friendly visit to Viet Nam

VGP – Chairman of the Workers’ Party and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)Kim Jong Un will pay an official friendly visit to Viet Nam in the coming days.

The visit will be made at the invation of Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Saturday.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh had bilateral meetings with the DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the DPRK Workers’ Party Ri Su Yong during his official visit to the Northeast Asian country from February 12-14.

Minh expressed his pleasure to visit the DPRK, affirming Viet Nam will work with the DPRK to boost exchanges and cooperation across fields that match the potential and interests of each side for peace and development in the region and the world.

Viet Nam stands ready to share its experience in national construction, socio-economic development and international integration with the DPRK upon the latter’s request, said Minh.

He reiterated Viet Nam’s consistent position of supporting dialogues to maintain peace, security and stability on the Korean Peninsula as well as the Southeast Asian country’s willingness to make active contribution to the process./.
