Gov't to organize conference on Central Region economic development

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI)’s proposal to organize a conference on the Central Region's economic development in Binh Dinh province.

The conference's agenda should include evaluation of current economic situation and solutions to boost marine economy in line with the spirit of Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW adopted at the 8th plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee on the sustainable development of Viet Nam’s marine economy until 2030, vision to 2045, PM Phuc required.

The conference aims to directly advertise investment potential and opportunities of central localities as a whole, and Binh Dinh province in particular, to businesses and strategic investors, which are well-known both at home and abroad.

The Central Region includes Central Key Economic Zone that wass founded 22 years ago, including Da Nang city and the provinces of ThuaThien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh.

The region also possesses favorable conditions to form an important economic and trade corridor which connects the North and the South and serves as a gateway of the East-West Economic Corridor route to the sea, connecting Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia with the international sea route through the East Sea and Pacific Ocean.

So far, the Central Key Economic Zone has seen the formation of a chain of seven big cities, including Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, Tam Ky, Van Tuong, Quang Ngai and Quy Nhon, with tourism, trade and service centers.
