IPI goes up 9.5% in Jan-Aug

VGP – Industrial production index (IPI) increased by 9.5% in the first eight months of 2019 but was lower than the rate of 10.8% in the same period in 2018, the General Statistics Office (GSO) reported.

The GSO on August 29 released a report on socio-economic performance in August and the first eight months of 2019.

Accordingly, in August, IPI witnessed a month-on-month increase of 5.4% and a year-on-year growth of 10.5%. IPI went up 9.5% in the first eight months of 2019.

Processing and manufacturing industry expanded rapidly by 10.6%. Mining industry experienced a slight increase of 2.5%. Water supply and sewage treatment grew 7.4%./.
