Reform 2.0 should focus on institutions and strong economic policies, the Government chief emphasized.

Socio-political stability is a great advantage but if we fail to issue favorable and competitive mechanisms and policies, we will loose right on our ground, he added.

He tasked inferior levels to extensively focus on reviewing and improving institutions to achieve fast and sustainable development, considering this as the compulsory task.

Phuc demanded each Cabinet member fully aware of the Government’s ultimate goal of designing an open environment that is most conducive to investors’ safe, effective and sustainable investment.

Local and foreign pundits also urged Viet Nam to accelerate innovation and upgrading economic institutions to lure advanced technological and high-quality resources in order to narrow development gap and catch up with other countries in the region and the world, Phuc said.

He also asked for close watch of the domestic and global situations to take proper and timely responses while sustaining macroeconomic stability.

PM Phuc said the Government will convene a national video-conference this month to seek ways to beef up disbursement of public investment capital./.
