Decision on establishment of National Committee on e-Government amended

VGP – The PM has issued Decision No. 1201/QD-TTg on amending and supplementing some articles of the Decision No. 1072/QĐ-TTg dated August 28, 2018 of the PM on the establishment of the National Committee on e-Government.

Accordingly, the committee will be headed by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Permanent Vice Chairman of the Committee is Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam. Minister of Information and Communications is the Vice Chairman of the Committee, who is responsible for the establishment of e-Government. 

Members include Minister of Public Security, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office, Minister of Finance, Minister of Planning and Investment, Minister of Education and Training, Minister of Science and Technology, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications as well as the leaders of several major IT companies in Viet Nam, such as Viettel, VNPT and FPT.

The working group, guided by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, is tasked for assisting the Committee.  

The Ministry of Information and Communications is the host agency, which helps the Committee monitor the establishment and development of e-Government, ensuring necessary conditions for the operation of the Committee and the Working Group. 

*Earlier, the committee, set up on August 28, 2018, is responsible for researching and proposing strategies, mechanisms and policies to promote the building of an e-Government towards a digital government, economy and society in Viet Nam, facilitating the implementation of the Industry 4.0 in Viet Nam. 

It assists the Government and the PM in directing ministries, agencies and localities to realize tasks and measures on e-Government development as well as review the implementation of e-Government establishment.
