Deputy PM hosts receptions for Ambassadors of South Africa, Nigeria

VGP - Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue hosted separate receptions for Ambassadors of South Africa and Nigeria in Ha Noi on September 20.

At the reception for South African diplomat, Deputy PM thanked South Africa for support to Viet Nam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure.

Mr. Hue hoped that the new Ambassador would contribute to promoting the bilateral ties in the coming years. 

The bilateral ties have developed positively in various areas, he added.

He called for further coordination between Viet Nam and South Africa at multilateral forums, especially the UN, thus contributing to peace and stability in the region and the world.

At the reception for Nigerian diplomat Francis Young Efeduma, Hue said the Vietnamese side wishes to discuss measures to boost multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries, especially in politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, and agro-fisheries.

He expects that Nigeria would become a gateway to boost cooperation and exchanges with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)./.
