NA reviews crime control activities

VGP – The National Assembly convened a plenary session to listen to reports on judicial work, crime prevention, legal enforcement and anti-corruption work on November 4 in Ha Noi.

Chairwoman of the NA Committee for Justice Le Thi Nga

On behalf of PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Public Security To Lam presented a report on the prevention of crime and legal violations in 2019. 

Prosecutor General Le Minh Tri and Chief Justice Nguyen Hoa Binh presented reports on the performance in 2019 of the Supreme People’s Procuracy and Supreme People’s Court, respectively. 

Chairwoman of the NA Committee for Justice Le Thi Nga delivered reports on verification of all reports mentioned above.

Justice Minister Le Thanh Long presented a report on legal enforcement and Government Inspector General Le Minh Khai gave a presentation on anti-corruption prevention work.

These reported showed that ministries and sectors have conducted breaking measures to raise efficiency of judicial work, crime prevention, legal enforcement and anti-corruption work, contributing to mataintaining security, socio-political stability, and economic growth. 

Complicated corruption in anti-corruption bodies

Chairwoman of the NA Committee for Justice Le Thi Nga reported that corruption problems in agencies in charge of fighting corruption; investigating, and protecting laws, are complicated. The problem of petty corruption caused public concern. However, the number of disclosed cases fell 4.18% against the same period last year. 

Environmental pollution especially sewage treatment and industrial water discharge, air pollution at big cities, and water contamination have yet fundamentally resolved./.
