DPM receives Governor of Japan's Gunma prefecture

VGP - Governor of Japan's Gunma prefecture Ichita Yamamoto has committed to encouraging enterprises from the prefecture to pour more investment into Viet Nam during his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on November 5 in Ha Noi.

Ichita Yamamoto paid his first visit to a foreign nation after his election as the Governor of Japan's Gunma prefecture. Participant in the meeting included Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Kunio Umeda.

At the reception, Minh expressed his delight on the fruitful, comprehensive and practical developments in Viet Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership, including relationship between the two nations’ localities. 

Viet Nam attaches importance to the relations with Japan, a trusted, long-term and top partner that shares common strategic interests and advocates Japan to uphold its international role in the region and the world, he said. 

The occasion, the Vietnamese Deputy PM thanked and spoke highly of the support of Japan for Viet Nam’s viewpoints on the East Sea issue. 

The host suggested the Governor continue facilitating and receiving more Vietnamese trainees and laborers to work and study in the locality. 

Currently, more than 4,000 Vietnamese trainees are working in the prefecture and 12 firms from Gunma prefecture are investing in Viet Nam. 

Ichita Yamamoto affirmed to make his utmost to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese trainees to work in the prefecture. 

Foreigners, in general and the Vietnamese community in particular have become a crucial part in the prefecture’s socio-economic development process, he said.
