First 16 bodies of 39 Vietnamese found dead in UK flown home

The first 16 bodies of 39 Vietnamese who were found dead in the back of a refrigerated lorry in Essex, north-east of London, Britain are flown to Viet Nam on November 27, 2019.

Following the direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs joined hands with functional agencies and localities to bring these bodies home.

After the aircraft carrying these deceased landed Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi, representatives of the central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh received and transported them to their families. 

When the case has been clarified, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Viet Nam in the UK have actively and closely coordinated with the functional agencies and localities in Viet Nam and the UK to support families of the victims in burial observances in line with humanitarian spirit, international law and the laws and customs of Viet Nam and the UK.

Currently, the two sides’ functional agencies are continuing working closely to soon take the remaining bodies of the victims home.
