VN, DPRK leaders exchange greetings on 70th founding diplomatic anniversary

VGP – Senior Vietnamese leaders have exchanged messages of congratulations with leaders of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam- DPRK diplomatic ties (January 31, 2020).

Specifically, Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan respectively exchanged greetings with Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK Kim Jong Un, DPRK Prime Minister Kim Jae Ryong, and Chairman of the Supreme People’s Assembly Pak Thae Song.

In their messages, the Vietnamese leaders highlighted that the traditional friendship between the two Parties and States over the past seven decades, which was built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, has been consolidated and elevated, especially after the official visit to Viet Nam by President Kim Jong Un in March 2019.

The Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach importance and expect to consolidate and develop the friendship for the sake of each country’s people, and for regional and global peace, stability, cooperation and development.

Meanwhile, the DPRK leaders wrote that the relations between the two nations have been continuously consolidated and strengthened over the recent 70 years.

They expressed their belief that the traditional friendship between the two Parties and nations will be further deepened in the time ahead.     
On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also exchanged a congratulatory message with DPRK Foreign Minister Ro Son Gwon.
