The latest patients are family members of a worker who had contracted the virus after returning home from Wuhan.

One patient is the 49-year-old mother while the other is the 16-year-old sister of the infected worker. The mother started coughing on February 3, while the younger sister had coughing and fatigue. Both of them have been quarantined and their health conditions are currently stable.

Viet Nam has prepared for all scenarios, including the worst situation amid fast spreading of the nCoV epidemic, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long told a room of reporters on Wednesday afternoon.

On global scale, the virus has claimed 565 lives and sickened 28,350 others in 27 countries and territories as of 7:00 pm on Thursday.

At the Cabinet meeting Wednesday, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc demanded inferior levels to remain "determined and calm" in the fight against the nCoV epidemic but prompt measures need to be taken to mitigate impacts of the epidemic on the economy.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry estimated that trade with China may dipped by 5-8% (about US$600 million) in the first quarter this year due to the nCoV outbreak./.
