PM Phuc reaffirms Gov't resolve to boost growth amid Covid-19 outbreak

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc reaffirmed the Government’s resolve to explore all possible solutions to foster growth and trade exchanges instead of shutting down everything amid continued efforts to contain Covid-2019 epidemic.

The Government chief underlined the point at a meeting on Covid-2019 prevention and control in Ha Noi on Monday afternoon.

In 2003, Viet Nam was recognized by the World Health Organization as the first country successfully controlling the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) after 45 days, according to PM Phuc.

Now, Viet Nam is now more confident in the fight against the Covid-2019 epidemic thanks to the drastic determination of authorities, especially healthcare sector and active involvement of its citizens, Phuc said.

Since the outbreak, no infection cases have been in critical condition and seven out of 16 confirmed patients have been cleared of the virus and more patients will be cured and discharged from hospital in comings days.

In Vinh Phuc province, hit hardest by the epidemic, serious measures have been deployed to prevent spread of the virus.

Earlier in the morning, members of the steering committee for Covid-19 prevention and control agreed that Viet Nam is safe destination now as the country has employed a string of drastic measures to effectively put Covid-19 epidemic under control.

Against that backdrop, the Government chief spoke highly of the efforts made by authorities at all levels and people in the fight against the epidemic over the past time.

At the same time, he demanded ministries, agencies and localities take prompt actions to accelerate production and business in order to mitigate negative impacts of the epidemic on the economy and to realize preset goals for this year.
